The Future of Film & Media Conference Returns

October 6th – 8th 2017

Prince George’s County fourth annual film and media festival returns with amazing line-up of regional creative economy leaders

 

Mount Rainier, MD- The Creative Edge Collaborative (CEC) announces the fourth annual The Future of Film & Media Conference returning to the Hornbake Library on the campus of the University of Maryland at College Park. This year’s conference theme: “We Are The New Makers: Turning The Lens On The Creative Economy” highlights the creative economy of Prince George’s County while fostering a spirit of collaboration within the entire Washington Metropolitan region (DMV).

Over the course of 3 days in October, FOF brings together 100 of the DMV region's most influential creative professionals (panelists & guests) - actors & writers; production studios & policy-makers, curators & educators. We join in panel discussions, exchange ideas about the future of film, and hopefully spark brand new creative collaborations.

This year also brings a host of amazing speakers have been added to the roust panels. This year’s keynote speaker is Robert Bole, General Manager of CityLab; Executive Director of PG County Arts & Humanities Council/ PG Film Office, Rhonda Dallas; Creator of #OscarsSoWhite and #NoConfederate, April Reign; Executive Director/Co-Founder of Meridian Hill Pictures, Lance Kramer; Executive Director of Gateway CDC, Pat Thornton; Sci-Fi Film Director, Al Hallak; Actor, Steve Ray; Co-Founder of The Lookout, Ian Fay; Media Personality, Michel Wright; Visual Jazz Artist, Teo Melchishua Williams; Co-Founder of WorldNet Media Studios, Robert Wolgamotti; Publisher of PG Suite Magazine, Raoul Dennis and many more.

A screening of award winning documentary The Beatles: Eight Days A Week – The Touring Years will also be apart of the robust three-day conference. Film co-producer and archivist, Matthew White will be in attendance for the screening.

ABOUT THE FUTURE OF FILM CONFERENCE 2017

The Future of Film 2017 Conference is our annual platform to exchange ideas, re-think community and promote innovation in the film and digital media industry in Prince George's County and the DMV region. This is the 4th year of this event and this year’s theme is:

“We are the New Makers: Turning the Lens on the Creative Economy” 

The three-day event starts on Friday, October 6th – 8th 2017 and is located on the campus of the University of Maryland at College Park.
